At Baseline, Patient is Ambulatory
Blood Glucose Level (60-400 mg/dL)
Facial Smile/Grimace
Arm Strength
Grip Strength

This app is intended to help students learn the Modified Los Angeles Prehospital Stroke Screen (mLAPSS).

As of 2022 Los Angeles County has been using mLAPSS in its stroke protocols in lieu of LAPPS (the Los Angeles Prehospital Stroke Screen.) The screen is considered positive if all of the following criteria are met i.e.:

YES NO
No history of seizures or epilepsy
Age 40 years or older
At baseline, patient is not wheelchair bound or bedridden
Blood glucose between 60 and 400 mg/dL
Any asymmetry-unilateral weakness in the following:
Facial Smile/Grimace
Arm Strength
Grip Strength
