PULSE OXIMETRY HELP
This app is intended to help students learn pulse oximetry values.

Ranges are from American Red Cross Emergency Medical Response, (2011), and values are the percentage of hemoglobin saturated with oxygen (Sp02).
The main value to know is the lower limit of the normal range: 95. Any number less than 95 should be a cause for concern. (Note: according to Pediatric Advanced Life Support by The American Heart Association, 2011, a reading of 94 percent or above usually indicates adequate oxygenation for a child.)

| MLD (Mild Hypoxia) | 91 to 94 percent |
| MOD (Moderate Hypoxia) | 86 to 90 percent |
| VLO (Severe Hypoxia) | ≤ 85 percent |
These criteria assume no factors or conditions that reduce pulse oximeter reliability.
